Another good day! Here is a picture from Mom's room. She has her Christmas poinsettia and the lighted palm that is from our neighbors Carolyn & Norm. Mom got teary today when we brought that in with all the cards attached! Thank you all for your love and support, it really means a lot to all of us, especially Mom! For being in the hospital at Christmastime, she has a great attitude and disposition.
Today was a day of visiting with Mom. She was just back from radiation when we got there so we got to spend three hours with her awake and very with it today. She really seems to be going back to her old self, although physically she has a ways to go. The good news is she is a fighter and follows all the directions she gets and does her part in this.
Dr. Burton was back today and by the look on his face, I think he was pleased with what he saw. He said the turbulance in Mom's lungs, especially the left one had cleared and he wrote the order for some chest PT (at Mom's request) to help clear the secretions. We were all really glad to see him too as he is one of our favorites and if you met him you'd understand why. Wonderful bedside manner and really makes Mom feel at ease.
These are the days we just love when we go and as time goes on we hope to continue to have more of!
Love to all,
Heidi & Bob
