Sunday

Another good day.  We walked in on Mom sitting at the edge of the bed with her PT.  She was sitting nice and tall. She still has not progressed to standing (and that will be a while yet) but is scooting a little.  I had brought a nice reward for her and she was able to really enjoy a few bites of Haagen Daas chocolate ice cream.

We had a nice visit and Mom was much less confused and anxious today.  I think she is starting to adjust to her new surroundings and the people.  She has the same doctors and therapists so they make her comfortable but seeing all the new nurses and aides confused her some.

Lunch came while we were there and mom ate some of her chicken and rice and when OT came in they upgraded her to thin tea and chopped food, which means she doesn't have to have everything thickened and pureed any more.  Some of that stuff, especially the veggies look pretty bad (imagine Gerber Baby Food) but the chicken today was pretty good and mom liked it.

We have a few areas the doctors are watching, a clot and a hematoma but tommorrow is Monday so the plan is to do the radiation all week and keep making progress.
