Today was another good day. Sorry i'm so late in posting, I was kind of waiting for my pm update with the nurse to see if she went into radiation but I can put that in later.
We arrived today and Mom was laying flat in bed with a BPAP mask on. This was a good thing. The nurse was doing a trial to simulate what would happen when she went downstairs to radiation for the mapping as it takes 30-45 minuts and Mom passed with flying colors! She was scheduled to go down for radiation at 2:00pm so we left at 1:30 so they could get her ready. She is anxious to start getting better and was asking at 1:20 when we were gonna "get the show on the road?"
Some side notes, Mom ate a few bites of mashed potatoes and gravy and chocolate pudding with her medicine in it and drank some water. That is a big deal as thin liquids are the hardest thing to swallow so we make baby steps every day. The other thing that was reported to us by Beth, Mom's occupational therapist is that yesterday mom sat at the edge of the bed for 10 minutes and stood up with minimum assist for 5 seconds which is much better than she had done when we were there.
The pain meds make her say some funny things sometimes but Mom is definitely in there and fighting!
love to all,
Heidi and Bob
